June 9, 2004 ... Chris Matijas recorded the following minutes.

ADSC club meeting at the DeWitt camp.

After several divers braved not only the steps but the directions to the camp and the thunder and lightening we made our way to the camp which is still being beautifully improved.

Clay opened the meeting and asked RJ for a report on the Scuba Sale. It was a great success. Bringing in a total of $509.50 for the club. We also picked up two new members bringing us to 94. The new Buddy List is out. If you were not at the meeting just email Cher and she will see that you get one. It was also noted that Bob DeWitt gave the club a laminator. Now all the cards can be laminated.  Remember that the cards are good for a discount at several stores in the area on club days and they are good for a discount at Aquatic World.  We talked about getting new stickers printed for the club. The oval ones that we had for Dive Fest are great and the reflective ones would be nice to hand out.

Cher gave a treasures report and our balance is $2527.89 and the dues for the year are still trickling in. If you have not paid yours yet then send it  in to Cher .

We then moved on to the calendar for the summer. St Lawrence diving in July is full as usual.  Four dives are scheduled for the date.    Woodlot weekend was brought up and what we usually do there. And then on to the Pumpkin dive at Fallbrook again. We will need someone to canvas for prizes so if you know of a place that might be willing to donate prizes get in contact with one of the officers. Someone suggested the Bass Pro Shop too. It doesn’t have to be dive related but it would be nice if it was. We can use all kinds of things for prizes. It is one of our bigger event and everyone that helps makes it better for all. We talked about the meal again and it will probably be catered and if the price is good with the same person that did it last year. Then on to the Christmas dinner which is booked at the Holiday Inn in Auburn for this year. First weekend of December is the date. We have decided to give two tickets to the shops that donate to the club.  I  believe that last year we invited them to the Pumpkin Dive.

Guess that is all for now. If you have not had you equipment serviced then do it before you start diving this season. If you have someone that is interested in learning to dive …bring them to a club meeting and we will welcome them and show them how much fun we have in this sport. I offer lessons as well as several shops in the area. And we all gain a new dive buddy.   Dive Safe and Happy Bubbles!
