Old Business:

a. The Pumpkin Dive weekend was fantastic! Our heartfelt thanks to all who participated, we had over 50 people attending - what a great turnout. Intrepid divers braved chilly waters to follow the navigation dive, and even braver souls ventured into the water in the dark to carve pumpkins by dive lights! Our committee chairs and volunteers did a magnificent job - very special thanks to everyone who pitched in to make this a truly great club event – especially the dive setup team, the cleanup crew, the food committee, and all those who donated the fabulous prizes! We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to the local dive shops, Finger Lakes Scuba in Auburn and Aquatic World in N. Syracuse, who have been long time supporters of ASDA and who continued the tradition this year. Finally, many, many thanks to Chris Matijas and the Muscari family, who once again made it possible for us to hold our special event at beautiful Fallbrook.

New Business:

The upcoming Holiday Party will be held at the Holiday Inn in Auburn this year, Dec. 3rd. Bob DeWitt is the MC once again (thank you Bob), and he’s looking for your nominations for Member of the Year 2005, and any funny or significant stories that we should remember or recognize at the party. We need to choose the location for next year’s holiday party – Ricky’s was suggested. Personally, I would love to go back to the Sherwood for next year, it’s been quite a while since we had it there. Another very nice place we’ve held it in the past is the Springside.

Underwater Tree Trimming Dive to be held at 10am, at Ensenor on December 11, 2005. Contact Rick Horr for details.

Annual New Year’s Eve Dive, 11:45pm on December 31st at Ensenor. RJ Bent and Rose Bent are hosting the after-dive festivities at their home, 76 Fitch Ave in Auburn.

We are planning some wintertime activities:

a. We are looking for dive-related IMAX showings at the MOST.

b. Seaquest nights are always popular.

c. A Dive Trip Party – let’s make the members who have been somewhere exciting share their trips with the rest of us.

d. There is an aquarium in Buffalo that offers dives with their sea lions in a 15’ tank, sounds like a great trip. Contact Rich or Diana O’Brien for more information.

And a little birdie told me he would love to get cookies to share with his unit. It’s taking about 6 days to get letters/packages from NY to him. They can be sent in a regular box or priority mail box. You need to fill out a customs declarations form and put ‘cookies’ on the line.
